Ad-free (video) chat

SquareChat

Real people · Real voices

A calm, ad-free (video) chat project for teens and adults. Small rooms. Clear rules. No ads, no “business model” on minors, just a fair place to hang out.

Born in the Netherlands. Built for everyone.
Welcome! You are now on the EN side of SquareChat. The language spoken here is English. Everyone is free to join any room and switch between NL and EN at any time. Please note: NL rooms are mostly Dutch-speaking, so conversations there will usually be in Dutch. You may also encounter Dutch users on the EN side.

Please read and abide by the rules below. After that, you can create an account or log in.

Found a bug? Let us know. You’ll help us make SquareChat better. E-mail us at support@squarechat.nl

SquareChat is not a therapy group and not a sewer. It’s a place for real conversation, for teens and adults. A whole lot is allowed, but definitely not everything. Push boundaries if you want, but don’t bulldoze over people.

To keep SquareChat friendly and safe, these house rules apply:

  1. Use your head and your heart
If you have to ask yourself “Is this still okay?” then it probably isn’t. Take a step back. Keep it human.
  2. Everyone is equal. Period.
No racism, sexism, hate, or discrimination. Jokes are fine (even dark ones), but not at someone’s identity or dignity.
  3. Teens and 18+ stay strictly separated
Teens belong in the teen lobby; adults belong in the 18+ lobby. Adults do not seek contact with teens here. Ever.
  4. SquareChat allows a lot, but not at someone’s expense
No harassment, bullying, dogpiles, stalking, doxxing, or threats. Disagreeing is fine. Destroying someone isn’t.
  5. Sex & flirting: 18+ only, and within boundaries
In the teen side: no sexual talk, no sexting, no “send me some pics”. In 18+: flirting and talking about sex is allowed as long as it:
    • is mutual (no means no, and doubt means no too),
    • stays within the law,
    • doesn’t turn into pressure, blackmail, or creepy games.
  6. Video chat = camera on
SquareChat is not a lurk platform. In video chat your camera is on. No exceptions. Do not film ceilings, walls, or anything other than yourself. Audio can be turned off if needed, but watching others while being invisible yourself is more than enough reason to be kicked or banned.
  7. No ads, no business model on minors
No spam, no referral links, no “check my OnlyFans”, no crypto/gambling garbage. Minors are never targeted by you or SquareChat to make money. Period.
  8. Moderators aren’t the law, but they are laying it down anyway
Mods can always enter rooms (even if they look “full”). Cross the line and you can be kicked or (temporarily) banned. See abuse? Use the report button.
  9. Privacy & safety
Don’t share personal data (address, workplace, phone number, socials). We will never sell your data. We do log what we must to keep the platform working and safe. SquareChat may keep internal moderation logs to investigate abuse, enforce the rules, protect users and recognise repeated harmful behaviour. These logs are used only for administration and moderation, are not public, and are not kept longer than necessary for that purpose.
  10. No abuse of SquareChat itself
No hacks, floods, spam, ban evasion, or attempts to break the service. We’ll cut you off fast if you try.
  11. Moderation’s judgment is final here
You may disagree; that’s totally fine. But arguing will be pointless. Honest! If you don’t like the rules, SquareChat isn’t the platform for you.

Summary: a lot is allowed on SquareChat. Laugh, vent, debate, talk about difficult stuff. But if you make SquareChat unsafe, cross boundaries, or tend to flip the destruction switch, this platform isn’t for you. Keep it fair. Keep it human.
